Pilot Program Launched to Identify Needs and Provide Assistance to Companies and Organizations in Tierra del Fuego

hrough consulting services provided by Grupo Singular, the initiative aims to design and test a systematic application mechanism for identifying productive needs, particularly those in Tierra del Fuego. This includes reviewing the current state of economic sectors, identifying key challenges, and defining innovation strategies.
For Nicolás Mardones Ortega, Institutional Development Manager at CFT Magallanes and director of this project, “this partnership with Grupo Singular represents an opportunity to channel and validate a series of regional diagnostics and data already collected in previous consultancy projects, placing a special focus on Tierra del Fuego. We recognize that some regional needs manifest in unique ways in this province, where certain productive gaps may have different priorities compared to the regional average. It is therefore crucial that this process is co-developed with companies and organizations from the island.”
Mauricio Ojeda, Manager of Grupo Singular, reported that the program is in its initial phase, which involves characterizing sectors such as tourism and livestock, identifying productive challenges, and reviewing curricula and student profiles to propose the best way to integrate these findings into the CFT training process.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with the State CFT of Magallanes and contribute to strengthening technical and vocational education while linking it to the productive activities present in Tierra del Fuego and the region as a whole,” said Mauricio Ojeda.
Once the project is completed, the goal is to have provided CFT Magallanes with a replicable method that enables continuous improvements in its engagement with productive sectors. This could be achieved through curriculum updates for the technical training programs offered by the institution, as well as by opening opportunities for technical-professional internships, organizing technical visits to production sites, implementing open innovation challenges, or other initiatives. The overarching aim is to strengthen student training by aligning it with real-world needs, ultimately benefiting the surrounding community.
